Originating from the Jimi River in the Western Highlands of New Guinea this rare helmet mask is made from a cane and woven fibre structure with fern attached to the outside and the mouth has a jawbone tied with cane. There are holes for eyes and the jaw looks like a boars and is missing some teeth. The piece measures 40cm front to back and 37cm in height.
