70+ years old and still in wonderful vintage condition.
This is a 1940s Hobe\' sterling silver flower bouquet brooch weighing in at 38.45 grams using a SmartWeigh Scale.
It is approximately 4.5\" tall and approximately 2.25\" wide at its greatest width.
It is marked on the back:
Hobe\'1/20th 14K ONSTERLINGPAT\'D
The makers mark does not come out clearly in the photos, but it is on the back where the needle is soldered to the brooch.
As noted above, between the Hobe and the Sterling, it appears to say \"1/20th 14K ON\", leading me to believe it was 14K overlay on sterling, but that (the overlay) has worn off, leaving the sterling with a nice patina.
The clasp is a reverse C-clasp and works properly, though if the center petal/leaf is pushed forward, the needle will slip out of the clasp.
I notice some corrosion/discoloration/gunk on the stems at the center of the brooch.Item will be shipped to winning buyer with tracking.
