Offered for sale is this large Staffordshire 11 1/2 inch tall Toby Jug. It was made in the late 19th Century and is known as \" The Sailor \" . He sits on a high backed chair under which is a sea chest with handles on each end. In his left hand and resting on one side of the chest is a large jug. In his right hand is a raised glass. The base of the jug is a rocky mound with a sea anchor between his feet. There were two versions of this same toby made. One was done in 1800 and this was done circa 1898. Its in very good condition with no chips or cracks \'There are some spots of crazing. A real nice piece to add to your collection.
