This is a mold from a European Chocolate Maker\'s Shop that was located in New York City.The shop closed more than 50 years ago and the mold has been in storage ever since.Items like this are not made anymore.
The sitting bunny mold is approximately 4 inches by 3.5 inches and the lying bunny mold is4.25 inches by 3.25 inches.
Both Molds are marked\"3 ANTON REICHE DRESDEN 6\",\"T.C. WEYGANDT NEW YORK U.S.A.\", \"MADE IN GERMANY\". The sitting bunny mold has a number mark of \"29700\" and the lying bunny mold has a number mark of \"30059\"
These are great mold specimens. Not only are they date stamped, which is not the norm for antique chocolate molds, but all the stamps are perfect which also is not the norm. To have two molds with the same design style, from the same maker, who is the top maker, from the same year, with perfect stamps is what makes these great for any serious chocolate mold collector.
According to my research the 3 on the left of the stamp and the 6 on the right of the stamp signifies that both molds were made in 1936.
These are amazing molds. The bunnies are so cute.Both mold have a nice patina and the shape of both molds are perfect. Amazing, considering that these molds are 78 years old and was used to make chocolates for New Yorkers for many years.
