Rare New Orleans Mardi Gras Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon w/ Enamel:

This rare souvenir spoon is decorated with a colorful enamel design of a blonde haired woman wearing a black hat and mask in the bowl and reads “Mardi Gras”. The front of the handle reads “New Orleans” in fancy writing and is decorated with relief designs including the Robert E. Lee Monument, a bust of “Old Hickory“, and the New Orleans city seal. The reverse of the handle is decorated with relief designs including the State Capital Building, Creole Cottage, and the Jackson Monument. It has a light gold wash and is marked sterling on the reverse with the Watson & Newell Co. makers mark. It measures approximately 5 + 3/4 inches long and is in excellent condition, as can be seen in the photos.
