VERY RARE EARLY FLANNEL NIGHT DRESS ROBE
This amazing find came from a very old estate with many early pieces of clothing
This flannel night dress robe, is longer at the back than the front (perhaps it would be worn with a bustle?)
There are buttons under the outer bodice as shown for closure as well as an original ribbon to tie on the outside of that
It is a heavy flannel material with gorgeous design of floral leaf pattern
The bodice of this dress did not fit on my small mannequin - it is xxsmall size I believe also because it is from an earlier time, could be civil war era, I cannot say for sure, if anyone has any information I will add to listing. Flannel has been made in europe since the 16th century, wool, and later cotton and pine are used for flannel. I believe this dress is a cotton flannel, but can\'t say for sure.
I have found no holes or tears, there is also a photo of the underside of the material to show condition - selling as found - I have not attempted to wash this and will leave this task to the buyer
