Then you also have the original Bonnie Cotton Mills Stationary. The daughter (Bonnie Mauney Summers) was also a well known author in North Carolina. She wrote Three Mauney Families, The Colonel Frederick Hambright Family, Kings Mountain: Her Background and Beginning, and Centennial Kings Mountain in the 1960s and 1970s.


LETTER READS:January 4, 1927My Dear Daughter: I am feeling very well today. Have been better for a week ??? than before. Your mama & Virginia both have had colds but are improving. Your mama has a pretty bad cough. We had a good deal of cold weather, but it is nice today, the first morning in some time that ??? since the weather is better I think colds will be better (he has crossed out the word better and written well). All the balance of our families are all well. We took dinner with Ida Saturday; it was rainy and bad. We did not get to Hunters Dinner a week ago. ??? James ??? girl has gone back to Georgia to school. Margaret ??? is at Charlotte Hunter in Phila - at a ??? school. We had the books at ??? Mill audited yesterday - we did pretty well this year.
BACK OF LETTER:The annual meeting at the Bonnie and Long Shoals and also a meeting at the bank well. He went week and about two weeks from today. I think we will come down if we keep enough. I spoke to Charlie about coming in with us. Ida wants to come but Charles has not said. We will let you know next week when to expect us.
Christmas and New Years no accidents that I know of. We will try to take good care of ourselves and be able to come about the time ??? I suppose I\'m of the ??? written you that we ???. We will look after them the best we know how. Your affectionate father W.A. Mauney
