Here is a nice old Bayonet and Scabbard. The make and model is unknown for both - it resembles a S24(t) VZ- 24 model as best I can tell, it also resembles a M1884/98 ... but there aren\'t any markings anywhere to be seen.here\'s what I found on am certainly no expert and I am sure someone out there can tell me exactly what this is - I welcome your input...This bayonet appears to be missing the locking piece on the handle.I don\'t know if the scabbard is original it seems too long for the blade -The Bayonet total length is 17\" the blade length is almost exactly 11 3/4\" and the Scabbard is 15 7/8\" long (almost as long as the whole bayonet)
This looks great - nice patina, you can just feel the history...even though there are signs of age, wear and corrosion -One distinct thing I noticed about this that several of the comparable bayonets did not seem to have is the solid copper rivets? through the scales, others seem to have some sort of screw type things through the handle but these are solid through on both sides ...see pics
