Rare outdoor tintype of Civil War era Id\'d Saddle and Harness Shop building:
$52.00

This is a very rare tintype photograph ofthe exterior ofnamed Civil War era Saddle and Harness maker\'s building. This photo measures 4 and 3/16\" by 2 and 1/2\" and is original to the period. It shows the buildings with a corral fence on both side and a large sign that appears to be attached to the building oneside and the other is supported with a long pole. The sign has the words \"Saddles & Harness\" and in smaller letters is the proprietor\'s name that looks to say \"Geo. S Viers\". This image, being a tintype, has made thebuilding and sign appearing backwards so someof my photos have been reversed with my computer to make the it easier to see and read the sign. The image is a little dark, some of the emulsion has been lost on the outer edge and there is some surface rust in that area. There are 2 holes on the bottom corners that makes me believe it was hung up at one time. This is not a perfect photo but a rare outdoor image of a business\'s building that has theowneridentified. I could never find out exactly where this building was located butthis image is from Missouri.

Please email any questions and thanks for looking!
