From an estate, is this RARE PPS cast iron skillet. PPS skillets were made from 1860-1870. This skillet has \"PPS 12\" on the handle. It\'s cooking area is 12\" but the top edge is actually 13 3/4\" in diameter. With handle, it is about 19 1/2\" long. There is a built in line on the center bottom. Perhaps a heat ring type of deal? Because of it, it doesn\'t sit completely flat.
I bought three great cast iron skillets from an estate sale. All three were in rusty condition. I used the exact instructions on Lodge\'s sight to get the rust off and season the skillet. It came out pretty good. I feel it is ready to use, but the instructions can be repeated as stated on the site.
