This wasexcavatedout of Charleston, South Carolina in the early 90s.The camp also had many Civil War era Relics in it. Charleston has a rich history dating back hundreds of years. The button retains it\'s shankand has the rare \"CAIRNS & Co. TREBLE GILT\" Back Mark. This Back Mark dates to 1795-1810. There is also a trace of gilt highlighting the eagle on the face of this button. These early Navy Buttons are very rare. Please see photos for details.
