A rare, hugely collectable genuine prehistoricfossilized Oviraptor Dinosaur eggdating toapproximately 75 million years ago.
The oviraptor was a dinosaur which was closely related tothe modernbird: it had a strong toothless beak and possessed feathers on the body, wings, and tail. The dinosaur had a distinctive crest on its head.
Oviraptor was almost certainly a meat eating dinosaur - one specimen was found with a lizard in its stomach. It has also been suggested that oviraptors were egg eaters, although undoubtedly its name, which means \"egg thief\" is totally undeserved and has arisen through amisinterpretation: the original oviraptor skull was discovered in close proximity to a bunch of eggs and the assumption was made that the dinosaur was plundering the eggs from another creature\'s nest. In fact subsequent scientific investigation proved that the fossilized eggs, which were identical in appearance to the ones sold here, belonged to the oviraptor (a nursing mother)!

Condition:Restored from large fragments with some resin infill.The nodularshell of the egg, so often lost, is visible here on most of the egg.
