Before the Leitz New York Motor there was the TPI Remodrive. Norman Goldberg contacted Leitz New York and informed them he invented a Motor Drive for the Leica M2 camera. Leitz\'s response was they were working on their own Motor Drive and declined. Goldberg then contacted TPI Industries in California (whom he had previous collaborations with) and presented them with his invention. An agreement was made and TPI Industries made the parts and under Goldberg\'s supervision built 3 prototypes, with some slight modifications, then they produced 5 to 7 production models for the IPEX show. The TPI Remodrive was shown that spring-later in the fall of 1965 Leitz New York contacted Norman Goldberg and said they were interested in his motor (their design failed), and in late October they bought the patent from Goldberg and All of the parts TPI Industries made, along with the 5 or 6 production motors, and the Leitz New York Motor was born. The TPI Remodrive shown in this sale is the First Working Production Remodrive assembled, it was given to Norman Goldberg the inventor by TPI Industries. As shown, The TPI Remodrive, Leica M2, but most Important-All of the Original Design Drawings are included in this package. The TPI Remodrive is in the possession of Don Goldberg, Norman\'s son.
