ARTHUR RACKHAM\'SBOOK OF PICTURESWITH AN INTRODUCTION BYSIR ARTHUR QUILLER-COUCHWILLIAM HEINEMANN- LONDONUndated c1913This Edition is limited to one thousand andthirty copies, of which one thousand, numbered1-1000, are for sale in Great Britain, Irelandand Colonies ....This is No..62 ....Arthur RackhamBound in original cream cloth, with gilt title and illustration to front and gilt titles tospine. Measuring approx 30cm x 23.5cm x 2.5cm. Thecloth is grubby, and age worn/mottled with some marks,and the rear board and spine have unevenly browned, see photo. There is a bit of a twist to spine and a small tear to top of rear board/spine edge. Lightly chipped and bumped to top and bottom of spine and corners. Internally the rear free endpaper has been removed and the rear fixed endpaper has some pen marks. There are a couple of small scuffed patches to top top of fixed endpapers. The front free endpaper has a neat name and date in ink, but the \'Belongs to\' panel to front fixed endpaper has not been filed in. The endpapers and half title page have pale foxing. The text leaves and tissues guards have pale, light foxing. There is some occasional offsetting, and marks, and some marginal dustiness.Oneof thetissue guards has a tear to inner edge, one has a small tear, and one of the mounts has a crease. Three of the plates have a crease. Handcut outer page edges are a little bumped. Beginning to pull/crack in a couple of places, although leaves remain reasonably firm. Else in reasonable condition, with bright plates.There is a full page colour frontispieceplus a further43charmingtipped-in colour plates, and several smaller black and white sketches within text.Limited edition SIGNED by Rackham, with beautiful ethereal colour plates.
