An attractive and rare Royal Doulton seriesware hat pin stand, decorated with the Charles Dickens\' character Mr Wilkins Micawber, from David Copperfield, designed by Charles Noke. It stands approx. 5.5\"/14cm tall with a foot diameter of 4\"/10.1cm. Condition is very good. There is the odd minor paint or glaze flaw from manufacture and stilt mark flakes to the foot, common to seriesware pieces, and light glaze crazing. Printed backstamp and faintly painted number \"D2973\", c1920.
