Extremely Rare Large Soviet Porcelain Figure of Shaliapin in His Role of Boris GodunovMade circa 1940 , modeled by Yakov Tropiansky in 1922, with blue under glaze factory mark. The mark was used by Lomonosov porcelain factory from 1930s to 1950s.
Same age, artist and decoration that was sold at Sotheby\'s, London in 2005 for the equivalent of $4,800. Today it\'s worth even more. Recent Sotheby\'s catalog of Rostropovich collection included a number of Soviet figures with estimates in tens of thousands of dollars.
