It is impossible to capture the uniqueness and beauty of this piece in a single photograph. The dimensions of the Kinetic Agamograph are 16\" x 11 1/2\" and the overall framed size is 24 1/2\" x 21\". This intriguing piece beautifully displays Yaacov Agam\'s unique perception of art and his revolutionary style, which relied upon the utilization of movement and the fourth dimension in order to gain a complete understanding of his compositions.  Using Lenticular Lithography, Agam overlaps multiple graphic images by using a lenticular screen that reveals and conceals portions of each image. Through the use of this highly sensitive technique, a fluid metamorphosis occurs when the viewer moves in front of the work, just as the viewer defines the picture plain it shifts, creating a new design.  Of his career Agam has stated, \"My endeavor has been to create a kind of visual graphic art, existing not only in space, but in time; one in which the form develops and evolves, thus procuring an unforeseeable infinity of plastic situations flowing out of one another.\" With this piece, Agam has created multiple scenes of de-structured rectangular shapes, accented by sharp geometric patterns and highlighted with bursts of vibrant color. Yaacov Agam(Hebrew:יעקב אגם‎) (b. 1928) is anIsraelisculptorand experimental artist best known for his contributions toopticalandkinetic art. Agam is the highest-selling Israeli artist. In aSotheby\'sNew York sale in November 2009, when his “4 Themes Contrepoint” was sold for $326,500, he said: “This does not amaze me ... my prices will go up, in keeping with the history I made in the art world.” A year later, his “Growth”, an outsize kinetic painting done in oil on a wood panel, which was shown at the 1980 retrospective at the Guggenheim Museum, estimated at $150,000 to $250,000, sold for the record-breaking sum of $698,000. Agam is considered one of the founders of kinetic art. Kinetic artworks typically contain moving elements and rely on motion provided by natural forces, motors, or human intervention in order to achieve their visual effects.
