RARE Sealed, dated, 1831 Alloa bottle - 5 strips of rigaree:

Seal: \'J A O, 1831\"
Description: Freeblown black glass Alloa club-form. Five vertical rigaree strips, starting at shoulder and tailing off to base. Seal to mid body with hexagonal edge to seal reading as above with good seal lip edge. Shallow kickup with blowpipe pontil. Bulging body rounded sloped shoulders into long bulging neck. Finished in flaring out lip (sheared off and resmoothed and folded back inside lip). Unattributed seal but obviously a Scottish individual. The seal itself is also interesting being obviously locally made and not in the typical English style. 10 1/2\" high, 5 1/4\" diameter max. This combination of seal and date and rigarees is rare.

Condition: Good
Overall full original surface sheen with some very light scratches and very slight wear to some highlight points, mostly on seal (where there is also a burst bubble on the left side and wear around).
