Really lovely vintage metal wind up clock with key. Brown metal clock with a cream face.I bought this a few years ago from a clock dealer and I can\'t remember much about what he told me, other than it dates back to pre-war (I can\'t remember which war but read on for more info I have found online). I believe it dates to the late 1800s or very early 1900s
I\'m not sure if the clock and the mechanism are the same age but I have done some research online and found the following:The PMK stamp on the mechanism refers to Mühlhauser & Pleskot company in Karlstein Germany, which was established in the 1880s and apparently this PMK trademark was only used for a few years in the 1880s and then the company changed name when Pleskot left the businessThe clock face appears to have been made by clockmaker J Puches in Vukovar which is in Eastern Croatia.The clock face is such a beautiful face, which is why I bought it. It looks like some of it may have been hand painted and in my opinion it is an absolutely perfect clock face - the colours, patina, font style and numeral size - it is just a perfectly balanced and lovely looking clock and I love it!

Clock face is approx 7.5\" wideUnfortunately my hubby can\'t stand a ticking clock so it has been on the wall with time stood still for the last few years. When I last used it, it worked great. I seem to remember it had to be wound every 4 or 5 days or so but that is to be expected for a vintage wind up clock and was one of the few little jobs in the house that I enjoyed doing :-)I paid quite a lot for this clock so will only let it go if I get a good price, as I would rather keep it looking pretty on my wall (even if it\'s not showing the right time!
