Rare - Vintage Royal Doulton ENGLISH COTTAGE D4987 Lidded Table/Hot Water Jug 1L:

On offer is this rare piece of vintage Royal Doulton \'English Cottages\' D4987 - a large, lidded table/hot water jug. Whilst this series was first introduced in 1929, this piece dates to 1939 based on the backstamp. Base also includes patent number 114107.This cottage is the \'L\' shaped one with gable and chimney at one end. Other side features trees and a bridge with a faint cottage in the background.
Stands ~19.5cm to top of spout. Opening measures 12cm x 9cm. Holds just over 1 litre.
In good condition - no chips or cracks, but glaze shows age related crazing. Trims good. A couple of scratch marks on the pattern. Pleaseconsider photos.Perfect for continuing table use or for coffee/hot water, or a simply stunning cabinet piece.
