Wonderful and RareMarsh Biscuit Tin, Art Nouveau Handbag

Wonderful andpresumably rare, this antique biscuit tin from Marsh of Ireland is done in the shape of apink-ish handbag, with stylized Art Nouveau graphics. Small handle on lid, and thetin opens on one side. Circa 1905, I’d say.

I’m smitten!

CONDITION:

The vintagewear and patina includes some small areas of wear, some small scratches andscuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some small and/or minordents and dings, some minor early rust, etc.

·Somefairly light generalized wear for age of tin, most wear is on top edges.

·Alittle more small scratches, etc., on one side.

·Oneside a little denty toward top, popping outward a little bit.

·Normaldarkening patina inside, some minor rust.

·Light-ishpatina on bottom, a bit more on one edge.

·ONEHINGE LIKES TO FALL OUT, AND THEY MOVE A LITTLE STIFFLY, HANDLE WITH CARE.

·Opens/closesfine with a little push.

Approximatesize of tin is about 5 1/8” by 3.25” at widest areas by about 4.25” tall,excluding handle.

The tin isempty.
