These iconic beadsis a greatexample of the workmanship of the world famous Yemeni jewish artisans of the 19 century .
thiscommunity of artisans was one of the oldest populations of indigenous Jews in the world, but by the 1948 most had moved to Palestine .
like an uprooted plant , this tradition withered away, leaving few and ever dwindling examples in its homeland of Yemen .
Nowadays it\'s hard to find a bead or two of these scarce and precious beads, specially of such rare and sought after medium wearable size , but we were very fortunate to acquire an entire collection that was a part of a treasured heirloom .
