Published in London by The Sunday School Union, this is inscribed on a front page to Sidney Frost, XMAS, 1896. This 475 page large format 7 ¾” x 10 ½” book has a fold-out color illustration in the front cover titled The Last Hope. This has probably 100 different articles including adventure, school and historical stories; articles on many topics such as science, natural history, sports, hobbies and crafts; as well as verse, competitions and puzzles. A few articles in the “other” category includes “How a Pencil is Made, New Year\'s Eve in China and Cricket.” There are many full or partial page illustrations and a short section at the back advertising “New Books.” This is in very good antique condition with all its pages intact, small separations of the front and back covers and minor age discoloration of the endpapers.
Please watch my listings for an interesting (I hope) and eclectic selection of other vintage and antique items.
