Rare pair of Spanish Colonial Spurs. Circa18th Century. 15\" Long:
$15500.00

A rare chance to buy an original pair of Spanish Colonial Spurs. They would have been made around 1700 to the mid 1800\'s. This pair is in good shape considering the age. They do have pitting which is expected. Only minimal signs of delamination. This pair surfaced in the late 1960\'s at the Texas Memorial Museum in Austin. There were in a temporary display on Mexican horse gear. They were unknowingly misrepresented. As you can see by the photos they do have some wear and a few small broken or deteriorated areas. Especially where holes were punched. The only major one worth discussing is one of the birds on the shank has lost its beak. Surprisingly the rowels have no broken tips. Master blacksmithing at its best! They were taken very good care of. The proud owners of these spurs would have been very affluent and would of had servants who put these spurs on the boots after mounting their horse. More photos available if you can get me your email. Questions welcome.
