The ranch was homesteaded by my great-great-grandfather who, at 19 years of age, rode the Goodnight-Loving Trail with Charles Goodnight and Oliver Loving. Some years later, he settled on the ranch, raised a family and made his living by selling mules, all the while enduring the trials and hardships that come with ranch life.
