.The sparkling flash of gold brings thisRED PLANETgem to life. Another client recently incorporated similar stones into her Black Hills Gold jewelry to stunning effect. Regarding the name, the adobe clay-like colors mixed inside the matrix caused the descriptive tag. The parent rock from which this was hewn in fact came by way of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The enclosing quartz matrix contains not just gold but, in some places, ruby-like windows encapsulating the gold. The rich gold stringers filling the top show face evidently permeates practically the entire rock. This conclusion is based upon the amount of gold visible on the back, flat face. The visual effect created by this interplay of native minerals is unreal. No Martian landscape was ever so beautiful. Both sides of this hand-crafted stone are shown in my photos. Large, oval cab weighs 17. 4 Grains (Troy). The top (show) face is domed, the back side is flat. As sole proprietor/operator of my store, I\'ve been selling native gold and platinum products here for roughly ten years. Returning to the 80s and 90s, I was a full-time placer-miner. SPECTRAL ROCKObserving the colors inside spectral rocks such as this cab, a person wonders how the earth created such incredible ores.This enormous diversity is what makes the study of minerals, our planet’s building blocks, the fascinating subject that it is.Even today, elemental forces continue their dynamic work.At the same time the earth\'s mantle erupts in one place, it is eroding everywhere else. So as it disintegrates, it coalesces. Thus, new land-forms are built. At certain geological sites, a person can see first-hand Mother Earth’s continuing metamorphosis. The natural processes which create solid land-forms are cyclically-repeated over and over again. As erosion pounds it’s wind-swept fist against the elevated land, water, the main agent of erosion, washes detritus from uncountable rivulets into larger creeks.
