A. Reibestein Wiener Bronze - Flower Pot -Aster

We are offering this authentic Vienna Bronze (Wiener Bronze), handmade and hand painted in Austria by one of the last workshops in Vienna that still produces the Vienna Bronze figures. These figures are still in production, but the design dates back to the period 1850 - 1900 and has originally been manufactured by \"GHAR Wien\". \"GHAR\" stands for \"G. H. & A. Reibestein\" one of a few hundred workshops that produced Vienna Bronze figures around 1900. This flower pot with aAsteris approximately 33mm tall. Please understand that these figures are handmade and vary from piece to piece. Small paint abrasions are also normal.

The item will be delivered in a small gift bag.

About the production of these figures

The material of the object is brass.They are made of casted parts and small formed brass chips like the leafs. The casting technique: Achieving such a high level of detail requires a very complex and time intensive production process: At the beginning moulds of wax were created, including drains for air and melted brass. All that was covered with clay. The mould was dried and fired. At the same time the wax melted and created a hollow space which was later filled with molten bronze. After casting and cooling the ceramic mould was destroyed and the brass core removed. The drains were then taken off and the whole surface was engraved by hammer and punch followed by the very costly and detailed painting.
