For those of you who know the life and times of St.Maria Faustina of the Blessed Sacrament will certainly be familiar with Fr.Michael Sopocko.

Offered here is a 3rd class reliquarycard of Blessed Fr. Michael Sopocko. Alsoseen here is my personal first class relic of Fr. Sopocko and photo of him in his later years.

The cloth on this reliquary card was touched to theoriginal first class relic of Fr. Sopocko in the possession of the MarianHelpers located in the NationalShrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA..

Relics of Fr. Sopocko are very rare.

It is known that Sister Faustina had prayed for aspiritual director. She desperately wanted someone to help guide her and tounderstand what she was experiencing while in the convent of the Sisters of theMerciful Jesus in Poland. Father Sopockowas the answer to Her prayers.

It was Fr. Sopocko who had instructed Sr. Faustinato keep her Diary.

Father Sopocko \"is the visible help for you on Earth,\" Jesus told Sr. Faustina. \"He will help you to carry out Mywill on Earth\" (Diary of Saint Faustina, 53).Indeed, he did just that. It was Fr. Sopocko, a well-trained theologian, whoseresearch into the writings of St. Thomas and St. Augustine, among others,helped him to confirm the authenticity of Sr. Faustina\'s revelations that God\'sgreatest attribute is Mercy.When Sr. Faustina told Fr. Sopocko of her visions of Jesus and His request fora new image to be painted and spread throughout the world, it was he who foundthe artist, E. Kazimirowski, who painted The Divine Mercy image.

Fr. Sopocko himself stood and posed in the position of JesuswhileMr. Kazimiorwski painted under the direction of St. Faustina--One of the earlycriticisms of the painting by religious critics.In the beginning of the spread of The Divine Mercy devotion, Fr. Sopocko madesure that The Divine Mercy image was displayed on the Sunday after Easter,1935, over the famous Ostra Brama gate to the city of Vilnius. This was therequest of Jesus Himself. And in thenearby church, he preached the very first homily on Divine Mercy on Friday,April 26, 1935.

Blessed Michael Sopocko (1888-1975) was beatifiedSunday, Sept.28,2008 in Bialystok, Poland. And with that, the worldhas begun to get to know the man on the other side of the confessional whomJesus assured St.Faustina would be her \"visible help on Earth.\"
