This is a REPLICA of a 1908 Krewe of Rex Mardi Gras favor. Engraved in the bottom it reads \"Hotel Inter-Continental New Orleans\", so they must have had this replica made. Made by American Sterling of pewter in the USA as marked on bottom. Measures 6\" across x 4 1/4\" deep x 1 3/4\" tall. Made in the Art nouveau style that was popular between 1890-1915. Some corrosion on the tray, probably some poor storage and Louisiana humid weather. I do not know what year the Hotel Inter-Continental sold or gave these items. There is a paper that was taped to the bottom of the piece that I will send with the tray (they printed the incorrect year it was originally made.) Oh, and so it is not trying to be passed off as an original, the lettering that was in the original tray is not on this tray. It read \"Rex Carnival 1908 New Orleans\" along the front edge.Can\'t afford the original tray ? This Replica cold stand in for the real thing if you want it in your collection. Yes, some corrosion, but still a nice piece with the King, the scepter, the carnival masks and his flowing cape.
