This is a lovely, sparkly ring in warm 14K gold (stamped) with a light-medium purple amethyst flanked by six fruit-punch colored rubies. (I\'m selling it only because I haven\'t worn it much.)

It\'s quite romantic, as it\'s engraved inside with the curvy initials A.K. (the owner?) and the year 1945 -- that was the year that World War II ended, and many people were united with their loved ones. Maybe this ring marked a happy reunion?

The ring is in excellent vintage condition. There is no damage to the setting, and all the stones are held firmly in place. It doesn\'t have any sizing marks. There is only a very, very tiny bit of scuffing to the amethyst from gentle wear, which is typical of older pieces, and not even enough to get buffed out. The rubies all look to be in good shape. It sparkles from every angle.

The ring is almost certainly hand-made. You can see how clean and open it is from the back (see picture) -- not heavy and rough like it would be if it had been cast. It looks substantial, with all of its architectural detail, but it\'s also light to wear because it\'s so finely made and open inside. It\'s definitely chunky, but not at all clunky!

I would say the ring is about a size 7 to 8. It could easily be sized up or down by an expert jeweler. The face of the ring is about 20mm by 10mm. The amethyst is about 10mm x 12mm (rough estimate using a tape measurer).

It comes with what looks to be the original box from \"Billmyer The Jeweler\" in Hamburg, PA. I will ship it securely and promptly.
