Great, Original Roundlet type Canteen, fresh from a Farmhouse in the Genessee Valley of New York State. In the original Red Wash that has acquired a mellow patina of age and use, the oval Canteen measures roughly six inches long by four and one half inches tall by four inches wide. It bears a stylized monogram of what appears to be a letter \"N\" and letter \"S\" conjoined. The body proper is one piece of wood turned in sections that displays an artistry seldom seen in Early Tree Ware. The pine ends each bear a small tack hole in the center where the linen strap would have been attached. There are two age related splits one being near the bung and one running from the edge opposite the initial end. These detract in no way from the piece and are only mentioned out of accuracy. As one can see from the photos this piece stands by itself and is a textbook example of it\'s type worthy of the finest collection. Listed at
