REVOLUTIONARY WAR SALT HORN POSSIBLY OPIUM OR LAUDANUM CIVIL WAR :
$89.99

What we have here is a salt horn, from what I was told was from the revolutionary war but I know they were carried in the civil war as well. Soldiers were known to carry these on their person, usually full of salt or something to help with the flavor of their rations, often old, dry and overcooked. Theres also mention of them being used for the more important things like opium, snuff, laudanum, I guess it depended on the person. Its still in great condition, functions fine, screws open and closed with ease, there are a few links of the chain left, they appear to be brass. The top \"ball\" on lid has some wear/stress from the link being through it. Its roughly 2 3/4\" long with the top screwed on and about 1/2\" across at the mouth. Please feel free to ask any questions or let me know if you need more pictures or any concerns. Thank you & happy offerding!
