Greetings bass players!I have for sale a 1987 Rickenbacker Tuxedo bass 4003 SPC. I am told this is a rare bass, only about 125 made and only sold for a limited time. Features a white lacquered fingerboard,
black hardware, black pickguard and truss rod cover, 9 black micro dot inlays, white finished unbound body.
I have the original case and the black pickguard. These are rare! There is was one this week on from overseas and they wanted $4250 for it.
I will ship this inside the US.
Here is the history: I acquired it in 1996 in New Jersey from someone who bought it at a reputable dealer in NJ. It does not have the certificate but the number on the jackplate is CO9422, which means that it is from March 1987. It does have some signs of use, some finish wearing off on the neck, as shown in the pictures. The white is turning a bit yellow, but if you know this model, that seems to happen. There is not much cracking of the finish like seems to happen on these as well. I have pictures of any chips or weird spots to show details. I have kept it in the case and for the most part in air conditioning since I got it. I didn\'t use it for gigs as I had another bass at the time since I was in a metal band and played a 5 string. So it hasn\'t been used out much, just at home and in the studio a bit. I\'m also a female and not rough on my gear,
I treated it with care. Recently I haven\'t been in a band and been learning the upright and more country or psychobilly style, so this bass needs a new good home.
