Hallmark indicates 1803. Look closely and validate for yourself.

This exquisite silver teapot, or coffee, made in the reign of King George III, isreally a fineexample of work from this illustrious family of silvermakers.

The teapot isof oval shape with a domed lid and wooden handle and a wood knob finial that fastens underneath with a wingnut that appears to be sterling as well.

Very beautiful engraved LAUREL design, not unique to these pieces but unique to find two pieces in such good condition.

The teapot weighs just about 16 ounces.

The teapot handle has a little play that has not impacted use to date but will likely need tightening down the road--so consider before offerding please..

The underside has clear hallmarks - lion passant, London mark, duty mark, letter for 1803 and maker\'s mark RH over DH for Robertand David Hennell.

Theteapot is in excellent condition with the indents as pictured.

The creamer has a little more useage showing.

I had these pieces authenticated at Bonhams in New York City. Note: One appraiser said the handle was original to the piece and one said it may have been replaced at some point. When two experts can\'t agree, I say: take note and evaluate for yourself and offer with your head and your heart.
