Rock-Ola 1422 Jukebox from 1946 Nice Original Machine:
$2500.00

Up for sale is my lastjukebox. This was my first one when I wentinto the hobby and the last one to go. Ipicked this machine up from the 2nd owners in 2012. The couple I bought the machine from had the machine for over 30 years in theirpossession. They were very honest with the description as I will be. This is not a top to bottom restored machine. This machine came from a dance hall outside memphis where it was not working and the previous owners I purchased it from had saved it. They restored the amplifier but their whole mission was to get the machine operating without messing with any of the original character ofthe machine. This machine plays very well and we use itfrequently.
Here are some things to note. The machine works very well. It has been serviced every year since I had it. There are some things to note since this machine is not fully restored. It still runs the old stylesteel tip needles. We buy the sapphire tipped NOS needles from sellers and they work great. To take pressure off the tone arm to not destroy the shellac records and vinyl records we play, we use a counterweight on the tone arm( an old motor from one of the color wheels. Personally, I love the steel tipneedles. After hundreds upon hundreds of plays, my 78 records sound as good as the day we bought them. All the animatronics work. The light wheels turn, they can be turned on and off and they look awesome.
The number 11 record tray has a broken tab andcannot be played.I will include an original replacement tray with the sale should you want to have it repaired. I have used it with number 11 out of order for a couple years. The cabinet lock is missing. Themachine can play both freeplay and on quarters, nickels and dimes. It works great. I will include the free play module plug with the sale and ship it running on coin, unless you prefer otherwise. The upper left curved plastic was repaired decades ago. I never messedwithit as it is original. The wood cabinet is alloriginal. I have attached photos of the cabinet all around so you can see it. Please inspect them. I have videos of this machine onyoutube. I can send you links if you want to see it play andcycle records. Last thing. The volume control works, but sometimes it gets sticky and you have to tap it a little to reengageproper control of the volume. This reallyisn\'t an issue for me since Itypically play it at the same volume all the time.
The one part I did replace cosmetically was the title board. I was fortunate enough to buy one of the last 1422title boards from a supplier in the midwest. As I was told, the guy who made them stopped making them some years back. A nice investment for around 200.00. It really pops. The original title board WILL be included with the machine. There are no records being included in the sale. I can talk about selling some of the collectionseparate or with the buy it now option. I have mainly 50\'s reproduction records that are no longer reproduced and a lot of 40\'s stuff that I would rather not part with right now.
The machine is a great machine to listen to and it looks gorgeous day and night. We hope she can find a new home where she can be appreciated. Shipping and pick up is the coordination of the buyer. I will make myselfavailable to meet your shipper. I only ask that you berespectful of my time and clearly communicate with me on pick up times and dates. Shipping costs vary, but as rule of thumb, I have shipped 3 machines to all parts of the mainland US for 350 to 600.00 the last couple years.
