Rockola 1937 World Series Baseball Arcade Game FULLY RESTORED and 100% Working:
$48500.00

My customerhas decided to sell this completely restored Rockola 1937 World Series baseballarcade game. Every inch of this machine has been fully gone through, cleaned, repaired, repainted, lubricated, and adjusted to work perfectly. Here are just some ofthe things I’ve done:

  • 1) Every sub-assembly inside was takencompletely apart and was repaired where necessary, not only to bring it back tofull operation, but to also insure that it would run for many years to come.
  • 2) The AC motor was disassembled. All theold carbon dust from the brushes was cleaned out. The commutator and rings werecleaned and polished. The motor worked fine before I started. But as mentionedabove, I went completely through this game and left no item untouched, toinsure the longest possible service life once it leaves my shop.
  • 3) The cabinet was completely strippedand re-veneered with the correct walnut and birds-eye maple, stained and then sprayedwith multiple coats of satin polyurethane. The base is gloss black enamel.Pictures were taken both with and without flash so you can get a better idea ofthe cabinet finish and color tones.
  • 4) Four new “double-wheel” heavy-duty swivelcasters and four leg levelers have been installed. The game can easily be pushedfrom one location to another and then leg levelers lowered to immobilize thecabinet.
  • 5) Baseball playfield and all decorativepanels were stripped to bare metal, sprayed with a 2-part epoxy primer, sprayedwith the correct colors (brown and green), and then clear-coated with a 2-part professionalauto-body grade car finish. The clear coat was applied over the lettering andpin-stripping to minimize wear and insure maximum playfield life. There is aclear Mylar disk applied to the playfield right in front of the pitcher, toprotect the playfield from the most abused spot, right where the ball lands asthe pitcher throws it.
  • 6) Outfielders, umpire, pitcher andcatcher were all stripped to bare metal and repainted by hand. Details includeeyebrows, sideburns, belt loops, etc, etc. Every detail on the original playerswas faithfully re-created.
  • 7) Backdrop is a cardboard reproduction(as original) with a reproduction instruction label on the back.
  • 8) Game was originally sold by the MikeMunves Company in New York and has their stamp on the back door. This alone is collectable,so I painted around the Munves label when I repainted the door.
  • 9) The polished aluminum marquee and etchedglass top sign are reproduction.
  • 10) Has the correct “coin escalator” thatshows the last four nickels played.

If you’vewatched the last four of these games sell (over the last few years) at Morphy’ssales in Las Vegas, then you know the two nicest examples sold for $60,000($50K hammer price + $10K buyer’s premium). The other two sold for less but they had severalproblems, mediocre restorations, or did not operate nearly as nice as the one I’mselling here.

You arewelcome to inspect and play this game at my shop in Santa Maria, California93455. Please see my website for contact information if you have any questions.
