This listing is for a Royal Doulton large characterjug: Beefeater, D6206 COPR 1946. The figurine is in excellent stored conditionand measures 6 1/2\" H.\"Beefeater\" is written in the mold on the back. There are NO chips, cracks, nicks or crazing. The box is NOT included.

The Yeoman of the Guard and warders of the Tower of Londonare colloquially referred to as Beefeaters.The name \"beefeater\" came from a visiting Grand Duke who wasastonished by the large amounts of beef eaten by the Yeoman Guards. The monarch\'s initials are on thehandle. The first variation was\"GR\" for George Rex (King George VI) and this variation is ER forElizabeth Regina (Queen Elizabeth II).

The listing also includes a Royal Doulton large characterjug of Don Quixote. The handle is in the form of a large white plume. The name\"Don Quixote\" is marked into the rear of the jug. The backstampsread: Don Quixote D6455 COPR 1956 Doulton & Co Limited Rd No 881509 Rd No35705 Rd No 7560 Rd No 332/56. This one is in “as found” condition with a smallchip on the rim as photographed, hard to detect on display. The box is NOTincluded.
