Artist Samuel Wilson Signed Royal Doulton Partridge Cabinet Plate

8 3/4\" dia, c. 1902-1909.

Embossed gilt wide band & gilt thin line border enclosing beautifully hand painted partridges in a hay field signed S Wilson by Samuel Wilson.

Wilson was an English ceramic artist working for Royal Doulton in Burslem from 1880 - 1909. He was noted for his landscapes, wildlife, hunting, fish & game bird studies & scenes. His work was shown at the World\'s Columbian Exposition in 1893 in Chicago.

A very fine example with Royal Doulton England standard printed mark in magenta & importer\'s mark of Davis Collamore & Co. Ltd, New York City. Foot rim is gilded. By hand gilt RA3881a & Partridge on back.

A few minor surface scratches - none serious. A fine example in excellent condition. No damage of any kind. No chips, cracks, hairlines, nor restorations.
