Super rare pair ~ the set of two ~ Wright brothers byRoyal Doulton ~ Character Jug Toby Mugs ~Wilbur Wright D7179 344/1000 (brown suit, white shirt, grey tie) and Orville Wright D7178 368/1000 (brown suit, black cap, white shirt, grey tie).Both designed by David Biggs, issued 2003 in a limited edition of 1,000 each. Size: 7\"H (Large) Handmade and Hand decorated.
December 17th, 2003 was the centenary of the first powered air flight by the Wright brothers in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.Wilbur jug is in excellent condition. Orville jug has a chip under the brim of his black hat as pictured, easy to hide with a black marker but this is up to the buyer. Selling as a pair. Original price 12 years ago was $300 each. No recent pricing and none for sale. Both are marked on the bottoms as pictured.
