Dickens Dream

I have for sale, from my own private collection, a wonderful and rare Art Deco Jug.

\'The Dickens Jug\'

Produced in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent, England, in 1933.

Depicting a multitude of Charles Dickens Characters in low relief all of whom are listed to the base.

The handle is modeled as Poor Joe\' from the novel Bleak House, with the spout as a mask in slumber.

The jug is of bulbous form and stands at 10 1/2 ins tall.

Fully marked to the base with the Royal Doulton Lion and Crown.

Although not a Limited Edition, it is widely believed that less than 1,000 were produced.

CONDITION REPORT.

The jug is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or restoration.

There is some minor crazing to the glaze which is to be expected for a piece of this age.

A wonderful Deco Jug which would grace any serious Doulton collection.
