Ranging from 1 ½” to 2 ¾” tall, this lot of 7 jugs, vasesand coalscuttle are scarce pieces of Father Christmas Series Ware made from1904-1914. Royal Doulton advertising suggested these be given in place ofsending Christmas cards. All of the items feature a Holiday scene with Santa,some with sleigh and reindeer. The coalscuttle features a turkey and holly sprig.All have mottos, such as “A handsome hostess, merry host, a pot of ale, and nowa toast,” and “Tobacco and a good coal fire Are things this season dothrequire.” All are decorated with bells or holly boughs. I have collected agroup of these little Christmas treasures over the past 30 years, and it’s timeto pass them on to someone else. Delightful little minis in very good conditionin a desirable pattern. Time to thinkHoliday giving!
