In the early 1980s, Royal Doulton, in collaboration with House of Nisbet, created the Heirloom Dolls collection. Their goal was to revive the Victorian tradition of soft-bodied dolls with bone china heads & hands. The dolls are individually sculpted & hand painted by skilled Royal Doulton artists & the outfits are hand-stitched by the needlewomen of the House of Nisbet. The hair is crafted ofmohair. Each artist adds a little of his/her own style to the doll, so each one is unique and no two will ever be exactly the same. The \"Wedding Day\" Bride has long dark auburn hair, blue eyes, deep pink lips and rosy cheeks. She is wearing an ivory satin gown with lace overlay and a long train with floral crown. She carries a colorful bouquet of flowers. The Bride measures 14\" tall and a round blue & gold Royal Doulton hangtag with the name of the doll hangs from her wrist. A label inside the dress reads Royal Doulton and Nisbet 1982. She is presentedin a blue taffeta-lined Royal Doulton box. The Bride is in excellent condition (I\'m not sure it was ever removed from the box), but the box shows some slight signs of shelfwear/fdiscoloration. Doll stand IS INCLUDED.
