laceyme Store Antique Royal Doulton Plate, Isaac Walton Ware.Introduced in 1905 with designs by Charles Noke based on Izaac Walton\'s \'The Compleat Angler\' first published in 1653. The series depicts combinations of fishermen in 17th century dress with various quotations and willow tree borders (dark green/brown on earlier wares, light green on later pieces). Here is an early plate with the profile of a man in a long cloak and rod over his shoulderin the foreground and another profile of peg-leg man with rod over his shoulder in the distance. Around the inner rim are two quotes - \"Friend, who is more welcome to my dish than to my angle was my fish.\" and\"Perch or Pike, Roach or Dace, we do chase\". Displays beautifully and rare to find in such good condition. Impressed small backstamp (Royal Doulton) and date 8-06 (August 1906).Larger backstamp \"Isaac Walton Ware, Royal Doulton\".Size: 10.5 inches (26.67cm).Condition: Without chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. There are utensil marks on the surface, does not distract from overall appearance.
