Lovely Bone China Small Character Jug - \'Jockey\' - D6877 - designed by Stan Taylor.
Hand made and hand decorated, this high quality piece was produced from 1991 to 1994.
The Royal Doulton Company is a world renowned Englishpottery company, producing collectables and tableware. It developed from apartnership between John Doulton, Martha Jones and John Watts, in 1815, with afactory at Vauxhall Walk, Lambeth, London. In 1820, the trade name changed toDoulton & Watts; and in 1853 took the name Doulton & Co, following theretirement ofJohn Watts, merging with the company founded by John\'s sonHenry, with premises at Lambeth High Street. In 1882, Doulton purchased a small factory at Nile Street,Burslem Staffordshire, the region known as The Potteries. And the rest isHistory.
The jug depicts the jockey, in his racing silks and goggles. The handle consists of the winning post and the jockey\'s mount for the up-coming race!
The jug, which measures 4\"/10cms tall, is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing.
