Royal Doulton Kingsware \"Self-Pour\" Royles Teapot - Very Rare:
$425.00

A direct quote from Jocelyn Lukins\' book \"Collecting Doulton Kingsware\" - - \"The Royles Patent Self-Pouring Teapot is the most spectacular version (of Kingsware teapots). The invention dates from 1890 and Doulton manufactured it in many finishes. It works on a hydraulic principle and pours tea when the lid is lifted, so that it is not necessary to lift the pot (private comment by me - how lazy can you get??). It shows Darby and Joan on the front and this title is in a ribboned shield on the reverse. It is 8\" high and its design number is 2870, telling us it was first issued in 1907\".

Picture #4 above shows the elongated silver top (probably NOT silver, but a silver-colored metal - maybe silver plate?).

Picture #5 above shows the original tea strainer (talk about lazy - I didn\'t feel like taking off the scotch tape to take a picture)!!

Picture #6 above shows the unusual back stamp.

Final comment - - don\'t even THINK of putting Kingsware in a dishwasher!!! Someone I know made that fatal error.
