One of the best you will ever find. Royal Doulton KingswareFlask featuring the \"Sporting Squire\" in the tall 8 inch pear shapedversion. He was made in 1909 in three variations as pictured and described inJocelyn Lukins book, \"Collecting Doulton Kingsware\" on page 35. The Squire of some standing incountry society was expected to take part in the important country pursuit offox hunting. Here he is shown in hunting pink, black hunting hat and with ahorseshoe cravat pin. Normally a good luck talisman, the horseshoe is here reversed;superstitiously through to be unlucky as luck will run out. He is in remarkablecondition for a guy more than a hundred years old.The stopper is included.
