Royal Doulton Lambeth foliage vase. This type of vase pattern is sometimes referred to as \"autumn leaves\", as actual leaves were pressed into the soft clay to make an impression, which was then hand painted and decorated.The background is muted green and blues which offers beautiful contrast to the brown leaves. The exterior of the vase has a lovely textured feel. Marked with the Doulton Lambeth marked used between 1879-1902 and with several artists marks and believed including that of well-known decorator Ada L. Worthy. This is a large vase measuring 16 inches high and roughly 6 1/2 inches wide at the widest point. Most Royal Doulton vases are smaller, making this piece very collectable. It is in very good condition considering it\'s age however there are signs of wear in a couple of spots both on the top and the bottom rims, where the finish has been worn. The piece was repaired on the very bottom of the base (not visible), as it was being made, or shortly after it was made, as indicated in the pictures. The repair is only visible when the vase is turned over to examine the bottom.
