\"Panchito\" is the first in a series entitled \"Portraits of Innocence\" by Francisco Masseria (b. 1926, Argentina). This Royal Doulton Plate was produced in 1980 andmeasures 8 3/8\" D and is in excellent condition. Throughout the years I\'ve seen others in this series of portraits, but it has only been this particular one that appealed to me.In the insert, the artist refers to \'the wistful expression on this little boy\'s face\'. I, personallyjust always found this little oneso charming & the colors of the artwork are warm, autumn-like - just beautiful. I\'ve taken the photos outside, so please excuse the various light streaks.
For those of us who do not want to damage a plate with a wire plate hanger or do nothave the means to buya frame that cost even more than the piece we\'d like to display - a shout out to Royal Doulton. Apparently,the company is considerate enoughto createa box & insert plate holder that can also be used as a display frame - please notethe photographs I\'ve taken. The plate sits securely in an upright position and the last photois ofthe back of the box, which shows that itcan be hung up and displayed on the wall.
