Gorgeous Royal Doulton Flambe Vase - Rare Glaze with verybeautiful colors, not the standardusually found!!! - Pieces such as the one being offered are prized by collectors, who are aware of the surprising results that can come about after a firing. They are also aware of the number of failures that can come outfrom a firing. We think this is one of those rare moments, thatwhen the piece cooled down, the potter was pleased with the results! Please examine the photos above for details. Photographs were taken with both flash (which highlights the colors more) and natural light from our kitchen breakfast room window (glare on the surfaces from light coming from windows).Lovely double gourd shape, handsome thinly pottedbody of high fired porcelainwhich resulted in a few very tight firinglines (cracks)on the base of the piece. (See photos). Thelines seen at the \'ground\' portion of the baseare typical for highly fired pieces. Only one of thelines appear on the surface glaze, but it is very short and very minor in our opinion.In fact, we didn\'t notice it at all until we did the close-up photo of the bottom! Mentioned only for accuracy.

Measurements: The vase measures approximately 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) tall x 3 1/2 inches (8.5 cm) at its widest.

Condition: No Chips, Cracks, Repairs or Restorations noted with the exception of those mentioned in the above description of the base. We strongly feel that if the firing lines (cracks) as seen in the photographs bother you, that you send us a message foradditional detailedphotographs. We are happy to do so, but please request them prior to offerding and allow enough time before the end of the sale! We are always pleased to answer questions as well.
