The Bookworm Plate D3089

This highly sought after plate is from the famous Royal Doulton “The Professional Series” that was introduced in 1909. “The Professional Series” was discontinued in 1975, however, The Bookworm had been discontinued 26 years earlier in 1949. Classically handsome in color, content, and collectibility, The Bookworm is a choice stand alone piece or a series completer. This plate measures 10 and 1/4” in diameter and is found in superb condition with absolutely no chips, cracks, or repairs. Gorgeous age appropriate crazing is shown intermingled with the vivid colors of the images. The back of this plate bears the black lion and crown Royal Doulton England backstamp.
